A political thriller.
The librarian by Larry Beinhart
This political thriller is not too far from today’s political landscape. Goldberg is a part time private librarian and becomes employed by a rich aging conservative who is part of a secret inner circle of manipulators that are determined to secure the re-election of the current president. After a series of wrong time/wrong place events Goldberg stumbles upon the dirty tricks campaign and is forced into behaviour that is unfamiliar to a quiet librarian such as jumping out of upstairs windows and hiding in luggage compartments but for Goldberg, this is dangerously way over his head, but he must discover the truth and he’s now on the run from Homeland Security and is on Virginias Ten Most Wanted List.
To make matter worse Goldberg is attracted to a beautiful and wilful woman. Unfortunately, she is the wife of Morgan, the man charged with finding out what the librarian knows about the secret campaign and it’s his job to stop Goldberg from telling what's he’s learned or indeed what the inner circle think he’s learnt. Once Morgan realises that Goldberg is in love with his wife being on the run from Homeland Security is the least of Goldberg’s problems.
