Harold Hastings Richardson, 1872-1944 was appointed County Clerk in 1893, and he continued in that role until his death, 51 years later.
Busy cleaning up work from meeting, correspondence, accounts etc.
Busy routine work after meeting.
Mair* and Dukeson** in office late afternoon after tour inspecting lower end of county.
Court day in Marton Fowler*** took several cases for breach of the motor regulations.
Fine day.
Dukeson in re the unemployed lists.
[Laykold?] representatives called to see Dukeson re gravel.
Gave order for printing general conditions [of] contract.
Office in evening.
Saw Dr Dick when he stated he required £70 consideration re proposed exchange Pukepapa and Main Road corner. Informed Mair.
[,?,,] in and rang Mair re surveys.
Sent plan [of] Main Road survey to Chief Surveyor, Wellington.
Dukeson in office, also Fowler.
Fine day.
Wrote [to] Loans Board re diversion loan money.
Fowler in office.
Office closed in the afternoon.
Rang Hudson re proposed liquidation re 12½% rebate rates.
Saw Cr Stuart MP**** in afternoon and mentioned to him the difficulties [of the] proposed liquidation re 12½% rebate [on] rates
Office in evening. Rang Chairman.

*Sydney Mair was County Engineer, retiring 1947. he began his employment with the County in 1899.
**F J Fowler was the County’s Traffic Inspector
***Richard Dukeson was the County’s Overseer in the Southern part of the District
